WHAT IS THE CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION?
The Cancer Research Foundation is a tax-exempt, public charity that was created to raise awareness and funds for the importance of and need for cancer research. The foundation is designed to minimize operating expenses and to donate 100% of all net proceeds to cancer research.

WHO DOES THE CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION HELP?
In 2010, your donations will benefit the innovative research programs at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. Each recipient is a renowned institute on the cutting edge of cancer research. We consciously support diverse and innovative centers in the expectation that each institute will find a different piece to the puzzle and that, together, will find a cure or cures to the over 200 types of cancer.

WHY SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH?
Patient care and treatment is vitally important to the individuals (young and old) currently affected by cancer and, luckily, there are many wonderful organizations out there for just that purpose. However, the only way to keep another 13 million people from being affected by cancer over the next 10 years is to find cures.  Cures will only come from innovative research and study… this is where the Cancer Research Foundation is helping.

Currently, the world is feeling the pain of a struggling economy... and the government has been forced to curtail many of its programs.  Unfortunately, years of struggle (natural disasters, wars, economic resession, and more) have severly hampered medical research funding (with cancer research experiencing the largest cut among all areas of the National Institutes of Health); in addition, the philanthropy community, although extremely generous, is stretched thin supporting its own families and, when able to give, often overlooks the colder face of research in favor of easing the heart wrenching pain of a victim. As cold as research may seem, it is the only road to a cure… and it desperately needs our help.
