New research in the United States suggests that a large daily dose of vitamin D can reduce the risk of certain types of cancer by as much as 50 per cent. Scientists at the University of California have found that the natural form of the vitamin, known as D-3, could dramatically reduce the chances of developing breast, ovarian and colon cancer.
