PLANNING YOUR OWN CANCER RESEARCH FUNDRAISER...
We, at the Cancer Research Foundation, are continuously overwhelmed by the generosity and creativity of donors. In the past, we have seen individuals organize a number of different events to raise awareness of and funds for cancer research.

We encourage individuals, schools, and organizations to be aware of the need for research funding and to do their part however they can. In addition to getting us that much closer to a cure, these actions encourage understanding, support, and overall community awareness.

EVENT IDEAS
Although we cannot anticipate every amazing fundraising idea, we have put together a number of tools and resources that will help you advertise and explain your activity as it benefits the Cancer Research Foundation. We have compiled a list of events that have worked for others in the past as well as links to advertising forms and banners that might help you in the future.

- Firstgiving.com/youcure: This link is dedicated to the Cancer Research Foundation and is designed to make it easier for you to raise donations for cancer research. Design your own webpage about your event, take online donations through the secure site, and more.

- Donations in LIEU of Gifts: Great for birthday and anniversary parties

- A Donation in LIEU of Favors: Often used with weddings and/or birthdays

- Goodwill Marketing: Stand out in your industry by providing a donation to the Cancer Research Foundation every time a sale is closed (i.e. $100 donation with every refinance, $500 donation with every home sale, etc...)

HOW YOU CAN HELP?

Although the Cancer Research Foundation depends upon every form of donation, we pride ourselves on the innovative programs, above and beyond fiscal fundraising, that allow businesses and individuals to donate to cancer research without taking any money out of their own pocket. Some of these venues include CharityMall.com (an online shopping mall where the merchants make a donation every time you shop), laptop or equipment donations, cell phone donations, video game donations, and more. This philosophy allows people (no matter their financial state) to contribute to a cure.
